Specs & Pics
  • This unit is what’s called an ADU, or Accessory Dwelling Unit. All it means is that’s a fully contained separate unit (basically apartment) within the building. Has full sized bath and kitchen, bedroom, separate entrance.
  • Kitted it out pretty nice so you should have all you need or forget anything – clean linens, bath products, extra pillows, etc.
  • Over 800 sq. ft.
  • Outdoor seating area.
  • Fast WiFi, symmetrical fiber gig. Cell service isn’t great due to proximity to airport, but still usable.
  • Fresh coffee and tea provided. Whether you want to use a pod or use the grinder, gooseneck kettle and Chemex – it’s all there, including the beans.
  • Dining table with 4 chairs (we have another two, just ask).
  • About 2.5 miles / 4 km from PDX
  • About 4 miles / 6 km to “Downtown”
  • Located in Portland’s Northeast (north of Burnside St and east of the Willamette River) Woodlawn Neighborhood. Portland has neighborhoods where most of the action happens, both day and night, that are not downtown nor necessarily near it. The city is divided into 4 quadrants, the Willamette river down the middle west to east, Burnside St the divide north to south.
  • There is heat. There’s no A/C, but rarely gets warm. Windows open for pleasant breezes.

Requests

  • Nothing illegal that I’ll know about.
  • Please no smoking indoors. (Patio right outside the door.)
  • Please no large pets – it’s a spacious place, but not huge with gigantic furniture to accommodate your pet horse, gorilla or manatee.
  • Your normal-sized pet is probably fine – but ask if you have questions. Probably not the best destination for your avid chewer or destro-baby.

What will you dislike?

Adding this in the spirit of complete transparency. Please don’t ding me for something I didn’t warn you about.

  • We are a block from train tracks, they’re on and off active, and there’s a crossing nearby. Generally not a nuisance unless the windows are open.
  • Being a bottom floor apartment, there’s sometimes house noises – but we try to keep it quiet and respectful.
  • The weather in Portland is wet Fall through Spring. Sorry, I didn’t do it.
